Introducing the Philips HTS6600 DVD Home Theater - hopefully soon to me mine! At least I have now put it on my wish list together with the
Samsung 32" White LCD Flatscreen TV, but first priority will definitely be this little baby right here.

Philips HTS6600 DVD Home Theater
The price is actually quite okay, considering all the features and capabilities it has. Just to mention a few, which I personally appreciate:

  • DVD-player/ CD / CD-R / CD-RW / DVD / DVD+R / DVD+RW / DVD-R / DVD-RW / SVCD / Video-CD

  • DivX (ver.6), DivX (ver.5), DivX (ver.4), DivX (ver.3.11), DivX VOD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX Ultra

  • MP3, WMA + iPod compatible + all other MP3-players

  • 720p, 1080i output

  • Digital radio tuner, AM/FM

  • ...should I go on?

  • JPG slideshow, progressive scanning, on-screen photo display

  • Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Digital, DTS-decoder Sound System

  • 2 loud speakers + 1 external subwoofer

  • 19-pin HDMI, type A

  • 4-pin S-video

  • 4-PIN USB, type A

  • Digital Coaxial (In)

  • great design, if you ask me

  • excellent sound
(tested it today actually, until they kindly asked me to turn it down a notch. It was a public store after all and not everyone loves Trentemøller!)

So the only negative thing I can actually think of at the moment (in my rush), is the rather large and heavy subwoofer. Luckily it's all piano black color and I guess it could blend in with the living room furniture. Put a plant on it and no one will even know, it's the subwoofer - well, almost no one.

"Kunsten at slippe taget" by ENTAKT

0 comment on this post »

I might be a bit out of my blog category here, but since music is such a great part of my life, I felt compelled to share this song with you - primarily because of the melody and energy. For those of who are wondering what the title of this post means, it's Danish and translates into something like "The art of letting go" - however, there's a bit of play on words here, as the Danish word for "letting go" is the same is "rooftop". So in other words, the title could be "The art of letting go of the rooftop", which should give meaning to the actual music video.

Just enjoy...

Drummer - age 2 - seeks band...

0 comment on this post »

Being a (male) musician, I have always had a very special feeling about the drums. As long as I can remember, I've used all available elements around me as drums and played rhythms on practically anything, such as my moms couch, our tables, glasses, the wooden floor making a great big drum and so on. So when I found this kid on the Internet, I just had to share it with you!

The video starts in 1996, showing Tyler Hudson, a 2-year old kid behind a drum set, then it skips two years forward, showing the same kid once again comfortably behind the drums. This sequence goes on until age 11 and trust me, if this - soon to be teenager - continues playing with the same enthusiasm, there's no saying where he'll end up. Probably Madison Square Garden...

Go see the MindWalkBand website and of course this popular guy also has his own website.

The Ghosts of Cité Soleil

Ghosts of Cité Soleil

Last night I watched an incredible Danish documentary by Asger Leth called "The Ghosts of Cité Soleil" which takes place in Haiti - just 2 hours from the sunny Miami. This fascinating and extremely scary story is about two brothers - 2Pac and Bily - and their battle together and against each other for power and survival. They are gangster-like outlaws trying to control Cité Soleil together with the former government of Haiti run by President Aristide, who finally fled the country, leaving them behind to take up the fight for Cité Soleil. It's a brutal reality of a place on earth, where no man deserves to live.

As Wyclef Jean puts it: "This ain't no Hollywood movie"!

Youssou might have chosen the wrong song here?!

0 comment on this post »

We probably all remember this guy with the funny name, as he made the charts with "7 Seconds" together with the 90's huge star Neneh Cherry. Personally I really liked this melancholic song and once in a while, I can put it on just for the pleasure of it. At first I had to adapt to his peculiar african voice, but then it suddenly seemed the only fitting voice for the song.

Make Some Noise - The Amnesty International Campaign To Save Darfur

Unfortunately I just can't say the same with this new cover version of John Lennons classic "Jealous Guy", which I found on iTunes the other day. This song has been performed a thousand times by a thousand artists before and if you really want to make yet another cover version, make sure it's damn worth it and strong enough for the audience! Ok, the cover song is part of a great big compilation of songs by many great artists. The album "Make Some Noise - The Amnesty International Campaign To Save Darfur" has lots of nice cover songs including Green Days "Working Class Hero" and more. But when I sat back and listened to N'Dous "Jealous Guy", I just could not get it - and I really tried, but something doesn't match up. The combination of his voice and some very sad lyrics is just too much, if you ask me. I don't feel it Youssou, sorry mate! :)

iTunes Preview of the song:
If you have iTunes installed, just click this iTunes Store URL to open up the song through iTunes for a preview snippet. Enjoy!

YouChoose8 presidential candidates on YouTube

0 comment on this post »

Upload your own thoughts and questions to the presidential candidates and be a part of it on youtube.com/debates. I do believe this is a newborn first-timer on the Internet, where you can actually ask questions to one or more of the candidates for the presidency and see it come to live on YouTube - and if you're lucky, they might just answer you back. This is only possible in the land of the free, home of the brave and the country of the nothing-is-too-much! Starting out July 23rd in Charleston, South Carolina - go nuts! :)

I've finally got my approval from MyMusic.dk and I'm proud to present my personal electronic corner of the Internet: http://fuhr.mymusic.dk

So far, I've added 2 songs for your pleasure - go check it out and tell me how you like it. Without making too many excuses, these tracks can still get better and be more finetuned, but they should give you an idea of the mood and vibe I'm trying to create here :)
