Recently I made a post on some of the worlds worst commercials. The number 1 worst commercial of all time (according to some) was the infamous Sammy Stephens, with his absolutely homemade "Mini Mal Rap".

I needed a quick laugh today and went to see it, but suddenly it was gone! It seems that our poor Sammy Stephens obviously got a little too much attention, I guess...

Codename: "Moviestar" aka Flash 9 BETA

0 comment on this post »

In the latest version of Flash - perhaps better known as "Moviestar" - you now have the pleasure and possibility to watch highly resolved videos in HD-quality just like Blue-ray and HD-DVD. Flash 9 BETA uses the same H.264-standard format, known from Blue-ray and HD-DVD and the new version also supports the familiar AAC audio format, which became really famous once iTunes entered the market.

Worlds Worst Commercials!

0 comment on this post »

Don't ask me how I ended up with a search query for worst commercials ever, but once I saw Sammy Stephens "Mini Mal Rap", I was hooked! So I decided to go for a little hunt for some of the "greatest" commercials out there...

1.
To give you an idea of the standard you can expect from these selected videos, first check out the all mighty Sammy Stephens aka Snoop Dog:

2.
Also, I bumped into this corny and super cheap furniture commercial and in it they offer you a FREE 10 or 5 piece chicken box - if you buy at their store. Yes, you guessed it, it's SO American!

Frankie & Johnnie's Furniture Commercial »

3.
I also found this beautiful Polish commercial for some sort of miracle wonder product, which supposedly eliminates bugs and other dangerous insects, making you entire way of living much safer and more calm. Obviously without this product, all hell is loose!

Grand Pol commercial for "Prusakolep" »

4.
Not that Barbie commercials have ever been great, but I'm really puzzled by this one. It seems like the little girl is feeding the cute dog, who then takes a crap on the lawn. But then the little girl kindly picks up the feces and feeds it to the cute dog, who eats it all up with a big smile on its face - and everybody is happy!?!

The cute Barbie Commercial »

5.
Some people have great success in life and these two fellows definitely got it going for them - or at least that's what they think! The get paid playing video games (NOTE: this is an old add) all day long and the female boss loves them...

The video game Commercial »

6.
Now here is real treat for you! Besides the fantastic quality of this commercial, the acting itself is just breathtaking. The owner - Marc - obviously don't want to rise attention to himself, because of the dangerous lion in the background, so he obviously decides to whisper throughout the entire commercial - great trick by the way! I especially like the ending, which makes no sense at all...just as the lion makes little sense either?!

The quiet Norton Furniture Commercial »

7.
To end it all off, I give you = Kana Hakkliha! Whether it's a commercial for eggs, milk, meat or something else, I couldn't tell you, so decide for yourself. But you gotta love the song though.

Trentemøller Live @ Roskilde 2007

This little clip provided by Fitwa might not be the best visual or audio quality in the world, but the reason I post it here, is because of the intense atmosphere. You can not but love it and as you sit there on your chair, you just want to bounce up and down, as the beat raises to a new level! Actually the poor microphone which recorded this 1:15 minutes sequence almost overloads from the immense sound, as the tunes hits the top and the crowd goes wild!

Gotta love it - clip from "What else is there", Röyksopp remix!

NO SMOKING in Copenhagen, Denmark!

0 comment on this post »

Yes, I am one of the last proud smokers left in this trendy city and as of tomorrow, Copenhagen will officially take the plunge into a new era of no smoking in all public places (almost). VEGA for instance, which is one of the biggest and most popular music scenes in the city will have its last night of smoke filled rooms tonight, because tomorrow, the law will be in action.

Oh well, my personal opinion on this hole matter is actually quite clear: It's fine by me! I can understand it and I can see many advantages from these decisions even though it wont be the same. Music, people, beer and overheated rooms with low ceilings connects perfectly with the familiar smell of cigarettes. Not to mention the classic photographs taken throughout time of numerous artists, standing in a smoky fog with red, green and blue lights pounding through the heavy smoke...

The obvious positive things that will eventually come out of this is, that we (the smoking minority) will no longer have to listen to non-smokers complaining about the smell and when you wake up the next day after a long night in town, you hopefully won't have as bad a headache as before and your clothes won't be smelling as bad! Good times :)

NO SMOKING!

Do you know A9.com?

Yet another search engine on the Internet (where else?). Instead of trying to explain how they differentiate themselves from others, here's a little statement:
"A9.com helps people find what they want on the world's leading e-commerce sites"
The A9.com website has a special feature, where you can actually just type in any search phrase or word in the address bar, right after the actual URL, such as: http://a9.com/searchword_goes_here

Mac-attack on PC!

0 comment on this post »

It seems that everywhere I look these days, I see some sort of offensive attack by Apple towards PC's in general. By making comparisons and judging pretty hard, they make no attempt to hide the fact, that they truly believe they are the superior religion!

As you can see, they use very characteristic stereotype people to represent PC and Apple respectively and the images the portray towards PC are not exactly nice or friendly minded, but they are funny. But hey - we need a little competition and Apple has definitely started the war once again!

Give yourself a little treat and chekc out all these hilarious videos by Apple:

Test your personal passwords...

0 comment on this post »

This morning, I read an article in one of the numerous free newspapers, they hand out at every metro and bus station around town. It was about this Danish company - FortConsult - who offers you to check and test different passwords, to see how secure they actually are and to establish your own personal, secure passwords based on those results! So this service is not meant for you to check your own existing passwords, but to give you an indication on what combinations are secure - obviously this has already made the headlines around town, because many people simply type in their own passwords and submit. Because this engine is not encrypted in any way, your password literally becomes invalid, the moment you press that "TEST"-button. Now you're warned!

Well, first of all I would never trust my passwords with any online business and neither should you. Second, I believe that you should be able to memorize all important passwords yourself. Of course, if you use "1234" or your first name to log on to practically anything, you might want to adjust and optimize them just a bit, depending on the service you want to access...

Anyway, I thought I might challenge and test this password-tester engine myself, so after reading the article, which mentioned something about not using "qwerty" for instance as a password, I decided to test exactly that combination.

Here's a snippet from the result, using "qwerty":

Total assessment: 43%
Password Complexity Score: 3/7
NOTE a): There's a good variation of different characters in the password (in comparison to its length)
NOTE b): Could be an OK password, depending on where it would be used.
Of course there were some concerns as well about this particular combination, but I still found it quite amusing (and a bit scary), that a worldwide know phrase like the keyboard combination "qwerty" managed to push it all the way up to 43%. This was quite shocking and maybe not the best indicator for a trustworthy engine! Who knows, you decide for yourself...

Microsoft also worked out a similar engine - Password Checker - which is encrypted and much more secure. The main difference is that Microsoft never sends your password anywhere, as it transfers a tiny application to your computer, making it impossible to snap up any information along the way, as it remains local.

Generally "they" say, that a good and secure password should consist of at least 8 characters, a combination of lower-case and upper-case letters as well as numbers and symbols. AND your passwords should be changed on a regular basis - once a month or so!!!

Connections: ExactTarget User Conference 2007

0 comment on this post »

Indianapolis, here we come!
It's now official - on Saturday 29th of September, me and my colleague leave for Indianapolis, USA for the annual ExactTarget User Conference. I'm actually pretty exited about this trip and what it hopefully will bring to us in terms of experience and new usable knowledge. For those of you who don't what ExactTarget is, here a short quote taken from their own website:
"ExactTarget is on a mission. We’re dedicated to providing the most powerful on-demand software for email communications and finding the best and brightest marketers on the planet to revolutionize the way people think about email."
Working as a Campaign Manager in our production unit, I work with this online system practically each day and practically each day, I bump into some sort of challenge. Whether it be interface or navigation issues or missing functionalities and possibilities in the actual application, I constantly strive to think of ways to optimize and make this great application even work better and more smooth. So I have now made up a list of things and recommendation as well as a bunch of questions, which I hope to throw light on in the days of the conference!

Microsoft Live Labs: Photosynth

0 comment on this post »

Haven't tried it out myself yet, as it obviously requires quite a few processors, hardcore graphic card and memory, but according to Microsoft, this amazing new technology called Photosynth, "will change forever the way you think about digital photos". The engine calculates the 3D positions of a given image and makes it possible to zoom and pan in any images.

Try out the Microsoft Live Labs: Photosynth.

Bambini has arrived - the Philips HTS6600 DVD Home Theater!

0 comment on this post »

Recently I published a post on my latest, new digital sweetheart, the Philips HTS6600 DVD Home Theater with excellent AmbiSound, which is a digital surround-sound-system, which you can swith on or off as you please. So even though the HTS6600 only comes with 2 speakers and a pretty heavy subwoofer, the AmbiSound makes it sound like there were actually 6 or 8 speakers - well almost!

Anyway, last week I received a huge package at work and it was my baby! :)

Quote of the day...

0 comment on this post »

The quote is actually taken straight from an interview with the Danish DJ, Anders Trentemøller - one of the top musicians out there (if you ask me). This guy lives in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen and journalist Anne Ringgaard asked him a few things about "his" city. The interview is not new, but living in the same city I couldn't avoid laughing a bit about his comments. At this point, I might add that I personally work in the advertising industry, but I totally agree with Mr. T on his views.

At one point the journalist asks about a certain V.I.P. club in Copenhagen called NASA and to this Trentemøller responds (translated into English):
"Smart people in the advertising industry, walking around pseudo celebrities"
Read the entire interview here (in Danish)

This is NOT funny, okay!? We are dead serious...
