Corny payoffs from modern Advertising Agency, Lynx/Vermø A/S

I'm still not sure if the below flash presentation streamed from their website front page is a corny joke or if they actually mean it!

You be the judge, but I personally find it extremely far-fetched! (NOTE: Danish text)

Copenhagen goes Web 2.0.

The below image taken from their front page should reinforce my statement regarding web 2.0. in the headline:

Actually the web 2.0. image reflection have taken over on numerous media such as web, print and even TV-commercials featuring products with enormous drop shadows and glass effects etc. With the extensive and well exaggerated use of web 2.0. features, the culture of web 2.0. is on a slow, but steady retreat - maybe to be replaced by a web 3.0 culture, what ever that is!?

Email has this nasty habit of inviting negative responses rather than just an absence of positive ones.

If you're slow for a week or two it's not the end of the world. Just be honest: explain to your customers you're experiencing some growing pains. They may not be thrilled but they'll appreciate the candor.

Advertising Effectiveness Award Winners 2007

0 comment on this post »

Last night our company Cubizz Communication A/S attended the annual Advertising Effectiveness Award (AEA) show, being nominated in one of the categories. We managed to win an award and here are a few facts on the case. I've tried to translate as exact as possible.

Title: "You CAN sell cars through e-mail – a case on Peugeot 307"
Client: Peugeot Denmark
Agency: Cubizz Communication A/S

This is what the jury said:
Despite the fact Peugeot 307 was the most sold car in Denmark in 2003, 2004 and 2005, Peugeot finds themselves in a very difficult situation in the beginning of 2007. In the summer of 2005 multiple cars catches on fire and the model is recalled for repairing - numerous times. Besides, Peugeot plans the launch of a new model 307 – named 308 – at the end of 2007.

The jury perceives the case as a well documented process, substantiating what can actually be achieved by initiating a customer dialogue in a situation like this. The campaign is targeted existing 307-car owners, who are facing a replacement shortly. The campaign is followed through in coherence with direct mails and interactions on the well though out micro website. With a fitting price incentive the wanted sales results are achieved. And the return-on-marketing-investment on the campaign is well documented.

The jury appoints 2 stars to this case.

Yet another community!

Sign up, enter your mobile brand, telephone number and Zyb will search its database for your friends! Once again, it's all about finding your online friends and connect with them - this time through your mobile, where you can shout out your daily diary and let people follow your every move. So did political candidate Naser Khader here in Denmark for this years election (actually today's the big election day) and other celebrities such as Sascha Dupont have also joined this open network.

Security?
The weird thing is, that you can actually read and browse through conversations, text messages and even see users mobile phone numbers (if they published it), without having an actual account. That's a bit strange, don't you think!? This makes it a very vulnerable place for political faces and others, who could easily get involved in messy hairsplitting and other less popular situations. At least it's very easy to take advantage of.

Facebook vs. MySpace!

It seems that despite many rumours and talks about Facebook not being able to live up to the demands for communities, networks and web 2.0. features of today, the website just keep collecting more and more sign ups from people around the globe.

In Scandinavia, 8% of the entire Norwegian population have a profile on Facebook, 5,3% in Sweden and 1,2% in Denmark - these numbers are constantly increasing with more than 1.600 individuals signing up each day - and that's only here in Denmark!

Avoid SPAM!

0 comment on this post »

On a daily basis I receive about 20-30 SPAM mails in my inbox, because I have published my e-mail address on this website. Automatic robots search the Internet for e-mail addresses and collect in a database. Once your "in there", it's pretty hard to get out of again (sound like an addiction almost)...

So to make your e-mail address anonymous, you could consider redirecting your audience to http://www.anonomi.com/playgrounds, where they will be presented with a secure form, which will then send the message to your e-mail address!

Search and save energy with Blackle

0 comment on this post »

It's actually "just" a customized Google Search Engine, but with a black interface! According to the Energy Analysis Department from the University of California, a black such as Blackle.com would save much more energy as opposed to the present Google.com as we know it: all white!

This is because Google has become such a world-wide popular search engine and millions of people have www.google.com as their starting page on their browsers. If all these people used Blackle.com every time they started their browser, energy supposedly would be saved!?

Hmmm, maybe I should change my design then....???! :-)
